Independent Travel Consultant
Everyone has a sense of what they want from a trip — they just don't know how to make it happen. That's where we come in. We do the heavy lifting — the deep research, the local knowledge, the hours of sifting through what's worth your time and what isn't — so you end up with a plan that's built around exactly what you're looking for.
We take on a limited number of trips each month
What we do
Planning a great trip has never been harder — not because the information isn't out there, but because there's too much of it. It's overwhelming, often outdated, and a lot of it is just plain wrong. We cut through all of that so you don't have to.
We don't build itineraries around the major cities and call it done. We go deeper — into the regions, towns, and experiences most travelers never find.
A flat fee for the plan. We have no incentive to steer you anywhere — only to get it right. You book everything yourself, keeping your loyalty points and full control over your budget.
A polished, easy-to-follow itinerary crafted around your pace, your interests, and your idea of a perfect trip — not a template.

Our client wanted Vienna — but more than that, they wanted something genuinely different once they left the city. Vienna was done properly: a group tour of Schönbrunn, time to explore the city at their own pace, and reserved tables at Gerstner and Café Landtmann. Not just coffee, but an education in what Viennese coffee house culture actually means. Unhurried, old-world, and worth every minute.
Then five days on the road. The first stop was Admont Abbey — not on most itineraries, rarely crowded, and home to one of the most extraordinary library rooms in Europe. From there we based them in Bad Goisern, a quiet alpine town that most travelers drive straight through on their way to Hallstatt. Since they were early risers, we had them in Hallstatt first thing in the morning — lake still, streets empty, the village completely to themselves before the day tours arrived. Two nights in Salzburg so it never felt rushed, in a boutique hotel in the old town. A salt mine tour. Then south to Füssen, where the next morning was an easy 15-minute drive to Neuschwanstein — a hike around the grounds before the tour groups arrived, then the castle itself.
On the way back, a night in Kufstein at the Auracher Löchl, a historic inn that has been feeding people since the 15th century. Lunch the following day at a nearly empty restaurant above the Attersee — exceptional food, views across the lake to match. And finally an evening in the Wagram wine country — a practical choice over the more famous Wachau given their return schedule, but the family-run hotel with its own wine cellar turned out to be one of the highlights of the whole trip.

Our client was based in Barcelona but wanted to slow down for a few days — no more city noise, no more rushing. Rather than keeping them in the city or booking them into a busy coastal resort, we based them in Peratallada, a medieval village in the heart of the Baix Empordà that most visitors to the region never find. Cobblestone streets, a 10th century castle, and almost no one around.
We put them in an adults-only hotel with breakfast included so their mornings were unhurried and the day started on their terms. Peratallada itself has a handful of genuinely good restaurants, so evenings were easy — no need to drive anywhere or plan ahead.
From that base, each day had its own rhythm. A morning at the beach followed by the Dalí Museum in Figueres — surreal in every sense. A full day in Girona, one of Spain's most underrated cities, wandering the Jewish quarter and up to the cathedral. And a half day on the Camino de Ronda, the coastal path that threads along the cliffs above the sea. Three days, one base, no rushing.

Our client was traveling in July and wanted to escape the heat without leaving Spain — and wanted food to be at the center of the trip. The Basque Country was the natural answer. Cooler, greener, and home to one of the most serious food cultures in the world.
We based them in Bilbao for the full four days. On the first night we put them in a Michelin-starred restaurant — not to be flashy, but because it set the right tone immediately and gave them a benchmark for the rest of the trip. From there they ate their way through the old town, working through pintxos bars in the Casco Viejo at their own pace. Bilbao rewards that kind of wandering. With only four days, we made a deliberate choice to stay rooted in Bilbao rather than splitting time with San Sebastián — it meant they actually got to know the city rather than passing through two places and feeling like they'd properly seen neither. We also built in a half day at Areeta, the beach neighborhood just outside the city, where they crossed the Puente Colgante — the Vizcaya Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world's oldest transporter bridge. An easy detour that most visitors never make.
Culture ran alongside the food throughout. A day out to Guernica — a town that carries enormous historical weight and is home to Picasso's most powerful work, seen in person at the local museum. And a hike out to Gaztelugatxe, a hermitage perched on a rocky island off the coast, reached by climbing 241 stone steps above the sea. Dramatic, remote, and completely unlike anything else in the region. Game of Thrones fans will recognize it — but it earns its reputation on its own terms.

About me
I used to work in finance, but my real passion was always traveling the world — and figuring out the absolute best ways to experience a new place and find its authenticity.
I started helping friends and family plan their trips, and I noticed a pattern: not only do many people want to travel, they want to see a side of their destinations that others don't. The authentic side — not necessarily off the beaten path, but places where you can still feel the old culture. Unfortunately, they either didn't know how to find that, or got completely overwhelmed by the planning. The endless options online, the logistical headache of mapping out a route. They just needed someone they trusted to say — here is the exact plan, here are the best spots, and everything is taken care of.
That's why I started Cobblestone Travel — working as an independent travel consultant. I love getting to know what makes each traveler tick and turning that into a curated itinerary that's entirely their own — so they can show up, be present, and come home with memories that actually last.
One thing worth knowing: we're a planning and research service, not a booking agency. You make all your own reservations — which means you keep your loyalty points, your preferred vendors, and full control over your budget. Our job is to hand you a plan so good that the booking part is easy.
Our philosophy
Some people don't know how to access it. Others don't want to spend the time. And often, the information you do find is outdated or just plain wrong. That's why we act as your private editor — dedicated to doing the work, sifting through the noise, and delivering a curated travel experience built around you.
